An Apple a day keeps the doctor away.

So, apples can't cure or prevent everything, but apples are a good source of vitamin c and fiber. If you have an apple tree or a fruit tree and want to make sure that you get good fruit results, it makes sense to know when the best time is to prune your fruit trees. Pruning young apple trees is different than older trees because you have to help train them to grow into a proper shape that will provide fruit for years to come. The correct shape will allow adequate air circulation & balance between branches to ensure they all receive sunlight. This will also help to minimize insect populations on the tree. Avoid pruning your fruit trees in the winter. That time of year will make the pruning cuts take much longer to heal. It's best to wait till after the last frost of a given spring season. Look to remove dead branches and then look for areas the appear to be crowded and work too thin out for air circulation and sunlight penetration.
